Vespene gas depleted.

The Statement. It’s not even December yet I feel that I’ve been spending lavishly for myself recently. I’m pleased to announce that I’m back to using Canon equipment. Micro four-thirds started as something appealing and impressive, but in the long run, it doesn’t meet all my photography needs. So, I sold my Olympus but I’ll probably get back to M4/3 in the near future. I know they say it’s not the camera but the photographer, but this may not be true at all times. Different cameras have different limitations such as the noise performance, focusing speed and accuracy, etc and it is these limitations that bounds what you can capture and what you can’t. Of course, composition is something that the brand doesn’t dictate. As for myself, I can just say that Canon is my brand. It’s a personal choice. ;)

Time Flies. Anywho, I guess I’ve been pretty much successful in making myself extra occupied. See? The last time I checked in here was like more than a month ago, and I’ve not been making this space as lively as before with my rants. One of the things that I’m focusing on right now is the multimedia. If there is one profession I would want to excel and shift into, that would be being an artist. No, not that celebrity-tv-on-cam persona, but more on being behind the camera, compositing, directing, designing, doing layout and stuffs like that. I know it’s still a long way for me to produce something artistically great, but I hope I’m on my way. Most of my studies are Adobe’s technology including Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects. I’m also in the process of converting my Toshiba workstation to run Mac OS, just to try and find out what it is capable of.

Kafka’s Last Performance. This is my Olympus EP-2’s last performance. Youtube disabled the sound, so the effect is not as great (haha, i hope that excuses my mediocre editing.) The video is shot on-location in Desaru, Malaysia where we tried surfing as well.

My rubber shoes is dying. It was only 3 days ago when I noticed my Adidas running shoes is giving up. I have only one pair of shoes for running, and it’s not good idea to run on untested shoes for a marathon (well, a half-marathon) so I’m not buying new. This coming Sunday would be the longest official run I’ll do at a distance of 21km. For the past 2 weeks, I had a grand total of only 2 practices. One was the 10-km Run For Hope in East Coast, and last Saturday’s Bedok Reservoir 8.6-km jog. I know it’s just Tuesday today, and I still have 5 days before the big day but I’m beginning to seriously feel my knees so I better just give it some good rest. I finished the 10-km in less than an hour, so I’m targeting the 21km to a little bit over 2 hours.

The Equipments. Billy, the Canon camera I got is 60D with Tamron 17-50mm lens. I also purchased a cheap neoprene case for it, and Flycam Stabilizer is on it’s way! :D The reason why I chose 60D, apart from being Canon, is for its video capability. It’s one of the more advanced DSLR in terms of capturing video (FullHD @30fps, HD @60fps, Manual video recording, and Manual sound recording). I’ll try to post something good from it soonest.
