Jeremy is still in Taupo.

i finished all food i have, so i need to get some grocery. however, it’s late in the morning, so i just decided to get burger king breakfast, and started my walk to cherry island, onwards to huka falls. on my way, my phone rang, and unexpectedly, it was from an agency to whom i submitted my resume yesterday. thought that was quick! he just asked a couple of questions, job experience, visas, etc.. but in the end told me that their client is looking for someone more senior, so i guess i’m a bit under qualified. but still, he told me he’ll submit my resume, and i believe that is still a good start. :)

continuing my walk, i was surprised to see johnny and kris, who left hastings a few days earlier than me. the world is really small, or new zealand has really so few people that people keep seeing on other people by chance. guided by a map, i reached cherry island, which is nice landscape of a small inlet, great waikato river, and the cliff spot for the famed taupo bungy. i rested for awhile, watched people jump from the cliff soundtracked by wild screams up from their lungs. the idea of doing the bungy came into my mind for a second, but i guess i better invest my money for skydive, which is sure more expensive, but the excitement is definitely better, and freefall much longer.

further ahead brought me to the starting point of walk to huka falls, which was not until for another 2 hours. that’s really the case for most travellers without car, but most of the times, walking proved to be fun, with more things to see and healthy and environment-friendly too. okay, enough trying to be an environmentalist advocate, here are from taupo, and huka falls -> click me.

the huka falls is so powerful that it is one of the major source of power for the north island. the water is coming from waikato river, which in turn drains lake taupo, new zealand’s largest lake.
