then the fish went to alaminos, pangasinan. hundred island was just amazing! this was just a short weekend trip. went there with 2 college buddies, jun and don. we left manila on a friday midnight, and arrived alaminos at about 4.30AM. then took a tricycle going to where the boats heading hundred island are stationed (forgot the name…)
so we were there before the sun was out, and a man near the registration center (you have to get registered to go to the islands)assisted us in looking for a place to stay and get some food.
first, we had noodle breakfast at this sari-sari store that really lives up to its name. so many things for sell, water, junk foods, rice, grilled bangus, grilled squid, probably grilled-whatever if you just ask them, etc. i'm not really used to having breakfast. i think this started when i was in college that i'm either too lazy to have breakfast, or don't have the time and would run late if i had breakfast.
anyway, our noodle breakfast even has a short funny story. we just asked for three cup-noodles one each of us, the instant thing that you just pour hot water in it. ate helen of alaminos (which was obviously half-awake half-asleep at that time), the store owner, poured hot water to the first cup right up to the brim. it was so full that she can't close the foil cover back again 'cause water is starting to overflow. this first cup is don's. before i could say anything, she was already filling the second cup with hot water up to the brim as well… and as a very clever move, jun saved the last cup for himself and instructed ate helen not just twice but three times to only fill it up half way. when she handed the cup to jun, i saw some water over flowing as well!!! i can't keep my laughing ass off!
me trying the trick at the pier going to hundred island. i've taken more pictures but i don't have them all in my pc now. this one was just sent to me by my sister.
going back to the story, we stayed at this place which really looks like my college dormitory! we even call it 'catalan'! the price is reasonable and the room is clean enough. i had a nap first before heading to adventureisland as i haven't slept much on the bus.
we went back to ate helen to get some food for lunch (we made sure it was not noodles this time). and then head to the boat off the islands!! after about half an hour, you start to see these little-looking island from afar to proliferate. they are of different sizes and shapes, all green from the wild vegetation. first stop was bahay ni kuya ng pinoy big brother. i heard a night in this place is worth 10K grand (about 200 USD)…there is this place in the same island situated high so you can see all the island around you!
i can't remember in exact order the names of other islands we've been to, quezon, children's island, raft near the giant clam farm, batcave, etc…it was a fun day even though i had more and more jellyfish sting that it felt like burning and numbing already…and more shades darker as well.
