uwi uwi

Thursday, April 27th, 2006

From Wind-up…

The announcement you’ve been waiting for has finally arrived! Evanescence’s upcoming release, THE OPEN DOOR, will be in stores on Oct, 3. 2006!

Following the multi-platinum, worldwide success of FALLEN, THE OPEN DOOR is an ideal showcase for the band’s inevitable personal and professional growth, with songs of introspection, longing, doubt, self-respect and ultimately, empowerment and anticipation.

Several songs on the new album include a choir, as well as strings recorded in an old chapel. THE OPEN DOOR is defined by Amy Lee’s beautiful melodies, profound lyrics, stunning vocals and poignant piano, which fuse with Terry Balsamo’s urgent, yet intricate guitar playing, to form a remarkable, ethereal blend perfectly rooted in the band’s rock and classical sensibilities.

Keep an eye on Evanescence.com for more info as it becomes available.

Stay tuned -

some shopping and weirdos

Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

just had some impromptu shopping after work. a cousin back in the philippines is asking how much a dvd-writer costs here…and would ask me to buy one if it’s a great deal here. i dropped by wanchai computer center, and the cheapest they’ve got is a liteon 16x dvd-writer at 280 HKD (less than 2,000 pesos). that’s pretty cheap! he told me it was selling like more than 4,000 pesos in manila! hmm…must be a good business back there…

in causeway, i bought some grocery (some egg chocolates i might give-away in the phils)..i passed by sogo mall, and bought something for myself.

for dinner, i tried the fan-tastic meal from mcdonalds. :-)

and another thing, last night, something very weird happened to me. when i was about to sleep, i just knew then that i don’t have my celfone around (the roaming one)…i was planning to put it beside the bed so i can reach for it immediately in the morning as it alarms. i kept on thinking when was the last time i saw it. i knew that i still used it in the office…so maybe i dropped it? left it somewhere? somebody took it? i tried to call it but the other line was dead (can not be reached). i remember i still have enough battery left on it so it couldn’t be off. when i woke up this morning, i tried calling it again, but the same message. so, my conclusion is that somebody had it and took my sim card off. :-( when i got to the office earlier today, just as i was about to sit, i heard a message alert tone, the tone from my mobile. :-) and the message was from my mom. i had just left it in my place in the office! but what bothered me most is that why it didn’t ring last night (and earlier in the morning) when i tried calling it? i tried it a lot of times. i put it back to where i found it and tried calling it again. and this time, it rang.

sometimes, things just happen.

things i try

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

i try to drink at least 2 liters of water everyday.
i try to cover at least 30 kms of stationary biking a week.
i try to run at least 6 kms a week.
i try to finish at least 1 book a month (this month’s selection is the loma manual…hehe)
i try to save as much as i can.
i try to go to church every sunday.
i try to focus on one thing at a time. (too many things in my mind now..)
of all the things i try, i find it hard to enjoy programming this QF and commission requirements.

how’s the weekend?

Sunday, April 23rd, 2006

a cousin from philippines, ate donna, and her boyfriend visited hong kong over the weekend. they had exam (profession-related)in central and toured hong kong as well…i met them for a saturday-night shopping. mong kok night market is a-must stop for shopaholic and bargaining…and since i’m very soon to have my vacation in the philippines, thought it would be nice to buy a couple of bargains for pasalubong. we actually headed sham shui po first before the night market…shopping for some pc accessories and look around if they could fix my cousin’s broken psp, but ended up that they can’t. :-( we also had dinner in a local noodle house in sham shui po.

sunday. i went shatin. afternoon, cooked pasta for tomorrow’s lunch. :-) in between these, studied loma. :-)

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

i’ve devised a plan on how to finish the loma manual before coming home to the philippines for vacation. last time, i left it in the beginning of chapter 8. so, i need to read at least one chapter per night starting tonight during weekdays…and 2 chapters each on nights of the coming weekend. if i’ll be able to do that, the last chapter, which is chapter 18, will be read in the sky.. april 28 at 10:00 PM

google’s logo today looks very unique…

an-neong ha se-yo?

Monday, April 17th, 2006

i’ve watched the day-time cinema today…’daisy’, a korean movie which stars my favorite korean female actor, jeon ji-hyun. i got the day-time ticket last night because; 1) it’s more cheap than any other show time, 2) and i’m planning to study in the afternoon today…just right after this…hehe.. :-)

the movie was good…but i admit it has some boring scenes and the story was slow sometimes…but it’s still great! yes, i know i might be biased here…

i like hearing the korean language..it’s similar to japanese but it tends to have downward tone at the end of its sentence. :-)

Happy Easter!

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

just got home from shatin…haven’t seen my cousins and aunt there for a while. in the morning, we attended the sunday service and then had buffet lunch which is really a lot more than enough for all of us… so, my aunt packed some foods for me and lunch for tomorrow is free. :-)

late afternoon we went to apm mall in kwun tong…and in this place, i’ve seen the most elegant, most inordinately interiored toilet. yes, the comfort room. imagine having a soundtrack while you release the tension and then you have an lcd right in front of you… that is, for each urinal. hehe… i was tempted to get a snapshot so i could post here but the it won’t look good if someone caught me….hahaha..

and then they have some bunny decoration contest…and i took some photos….

happy easter!
